Martha Stewart Joining Match!

April 30, 2013 | 10:00 AM PDT

Filed under: Matt Lauer, Martha Stewart, Random, NBC, Today Show, Weird News

She's done it all: made millions, inspired millions, got married, got divorced, gone to jail… the only thing left is to join an online dating site! And that's exactly what Martha Stewart is doing. Appearing on Today, Stewart says she's joining Match.com and is looking "to have breakfast with somebody," and admittedly: "I'd like to go to bed with somebody."

Not sure how many other over-70 users Match has, but regardless, I'm sure Martha will get plenty of "matches." Best of luck!!

Ann Curry Vindicated By "Today Show" Book

April 20, 2013 | 07:00 AM PDT

Filed under: Matt Lauer, NEWS, Politics, Today Show, NBC, Books

Should Ann Curry join "Good Morning America" to spite "The Today Show"?

It's no secret that Ann Curry wasn't treated the way she shoulda been by NBC and The Today Show. Working on the show for some 15 years, NBC gave her the boot last summer after ratings declined with her in the co-anchoring role opposite Matt Lauer. In a new book titled Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV, New York Times writer Brian Stetler says Ann was put through hell by her former bosses at Today. A source with access to the book tells RadarOnline that the book vindicates Ann and demonizes both NBC and Lauer.

The book hits stores next week. To read more about the book, click on the link.

Chatting with Matt Lauer on yesterday's Today Show, Chris Brown opened up about beating Rihanna and actually seems to have his head in the right place… and no, from what we can tell, this isn't an incredible April Fools joke.

The 23-year-old star tells Lauer during his 52 weeks in rehab he learned that what he did to RiRi was incredibly wrong. "As far as me and her are concerned, she knows my heart and I know her heart. I'm not really focused on the negative, everything about it is positive for me," Breezy says. "I did my 52 weeks of counseling and learned that it was absolutely wrong."

While it's kinda absurd it took 52 weeks of rehab to learn that, at least he's learned that. America loves a comeback story, but do we love it when the comeback is Chris Brown???

Question is, which finger?! On Friday's Today Show, co-host Savannah Guthrie made a potentially obscene gesture to Matt Lauer during a hard news segment vacuum demonstration. Lauer joked, "By the way, this is the first time Savannah has ever used a vacuum."

Guthrie replied by flipping what appeared to be her middle finger at Lauer. However, she tweeted immediately after the show, "Folks!! That was my INDEX finger! Photo evidence proving my innocence coming! #fingergate #TGIF"

What do you think? Did Savannah flip Matt the bird??

If you were a NBC exec, would you give Anderson Cooper Matt Lauer's job?

Anyone else getting a little worn out by the drama peacock network and its constant headlines about Jay Leno and Matt Lauer?? The latest from the morning gang is that Anderson Cooper, whose afternoon talk show was recently canned, is going to replace Matt Lauer on Today. The speculation has been building over the last few weeks, so much that NBC had to release a statement.

Executive Alexandra Wallace tells The Hollywood Reporter, "As we've said before, Matt Lauer is the best in the business. We want him in the Today Show anchor chair for many years to come. We are not considering replacing Matt Lauer."

Yeah, well unless Today starts beating Good Morning America, I'm pretty sure anything's possible.

Would ratings for "Today" actually go up if they fired Matt Lauer?

The news making the news… NBC's handling of Ann Curry's ousting from Today last summer was downright ugly, and nine months later Matt Lauer is finally talking about the situation. "I don't think the show and the network handled the transition well," Lauer admits to The Daily Beast. "You don't have to be Einstein to know that. It clearly did not help us. We were seen as a family, and we didn't handle a family matter well."

Ya think?! If you recall, Curry refused a hug from Lauer during her emotional goodbye. Good Morning America has since overtaken Today as the #1 rated morning news program. "In some ways being No. 2 in the ratings is a real shot in the arm, a kick in the pants," Lauer adds. "It makes you hungrier.  I don't think it's a bad thing to have a fire lit under your ass."

NBC To Fire Matt Lauer In February?!

December 02, 2012 | 08:18 AM PST

Filed under: Matt Lauer, NBC, Today Show, Good Morning America, NEWS

Would firing Matt Lauer from "Today" hurt the show's ratings even more?

For months now, NBC's Today Show has continued to lose viewers to Good Morning America, so it's no surprise that the Peacock Network is ready to take action. According to insiders, if Today doesn't rebound and see its ratings improve by February, NBC will fire Matt Lauer! At $25 million a year, that's a no-brainer!

Matt's been the host of Today since 1996, and has been working on the show since 1994.

Would "Today" have better ratings if it got rid of Matt Lauer?
Not only did Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler drop an F-bomb on The Today Show, but he also forgot which show he was on! Coming in from break, Matt Lauer teased a performance by the band coming up. Tyler looked at the camera and said, "Good morning America!" While Steven was most likely just saying good morning, the anchors of Today obviously took offense with it since that's the name of their rival.

Later during the weather, Tyler could be heard talking to the crowd when he said, "Thanks for coming out, you crazy f***s!"

Ewwww, Kathy Lee Gifford did something that probably pi$$ed off 99.9% of the viewing public when she accidentally DROPPED A PUPPY on live TV. Hurting a puppy is probably the very last thing anyone should ever do on TV. I guess we can cut her some slack, she films hundreds of hours of live TV a year, she's bound to make some mondo mix-ups. She later said "the puppy's okay, but I'm a wreck," adding "I have realized what the problem was. That dog did not want to go home with Hoda." Wow, she managed to make dropping a puppy on live TV even worse!

Should Mark Zuckerberg be worried that Facebook has peaked?

Facebook
CEO Mark Zuckerberg taped an interview with Matt Lauer last week that will air tomorrow, October 4th on Today. And while there are plenty of serious issues at hand that Lauer could have asked, Matt tried to settle the debate over Mark's infamous wardrobe. Zuckerberg says, "I mean, I wear the same thing every day, right? I mean, it's literally, if you could see my closest." Lauer asked if he owns 12 of the same gray t-shirt, to which Zuck replied, "Maybe about 20."

They did cover some more relevant topics, like the new iPhone 5. "iPhone is a great platform," says Mark. "There are more people who use Facebook on Android -- because Android is just -- more people use it, at this point."

Catch the entire interview tomorrow on Today.
