Steven Tyler Goes Drag For "Idol" Audition

February 01, 2013 | 07:00 AM PST

Filed under: Steven Tyler, New TV, American Idol, FOX

Hollywood Week can't come soon enough. American Idol has wasted enough of my time! The funny-at-first pathetic auditions have gone on too long, and now the show has resorted to freaky cameos from past judges to fill time. On last night's show, former judge and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler "auditioned" in complete drag under the name Pepper LaBeija.

Idol heads to Tinseltown next week as the 255 golden ticket recipients began battling. Finally.

Yeah, forget Americal Idol! This is what livin' is all about! Vacationing in Hawaii, TMZ cameras caught Steven Tyler playing the bongos for a crowd on the beach. While his musical skills are always entertaining, his teeny-bikini bottom might have attracted more fans!

The blonde in the background sporting the hat and multicolored bikini top is rumored to be Steven's new babe. Not bad for a 64-year-old!

Do you sort of like it when judges are mean on "American Idol"?

Well, he started it! During an interview with MTV yesterday, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler spoke out negatively on Nicki Minaj's American Idol judging. "These kids, they just got out of a car from the Midwest somewhere and they're in New York City, they're scared to death; you're not going to get the best out of them. If it was Bob Dylan, Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfield!"

Minaj was quick to defend herself. Taking to Twitter she wrote, "Steven Tyler said I would have sent Bob Dylan to a cornfield??? Steven, you haven't seen me judge one single solitary contestant yet!" She went on, "I understand you really wanted to keep your job but take that up with the producers. I haven't done anything to you. That's a racist comment."

Nicki continued with a couple more tweets, some rather vulgar! To see them all, click on the link!

Would "Today" have better ratings if it got rid of Matt Lauer?
Not only did Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler drop an F-bomb on The Today Show, but he also forgot which show he was on! Coming in from break, Matt Lauer teased a performance by the band coming up. Tyler looked at the camera and said, "Good morning America!" While Steven was most likely just saying good morning, the anchors of Today obviously took offense with it since that's the name of their rival.

Later during the weather, Tyler could be heard talking to the crowd when he said, "Thanks for coming out, you crazy f***s!"

When TMZ asked former American Idol judge Steven Tyler if he thought the feud between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey is fake, he replied "of course, are you kidding?" When asked when he plans on returning to the show, Tyler said "I aint never goin' back!" and got into his car. What do you think -- is the whole Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey feud made up? I go back and forth...

Is Simon Cowell the only judge that could turn around "American Idol"?
You know American Idol's in trouble when the most newsworthy stories coming from it are about judges. After JLo and Steven Tyler decided to leave (Were fired?), the big mystery was what would happen with Randy Jackson. But now, it appears the dawg days are over for RJ after 11 seasons of pitchy judging.

No word on who'll replace him, but rumor has it Idol producers are well aware that new judge Mariah Carey doesn't want it to be Nicki Minaj.

Will "Idol's" ratings continue to decline unless they get a mean judge?
Now that he's off the show, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is ready to tell us how he really feels about American Idol. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Steven says, "I loved it and hated it. It was a great job, I sat next to J. Lo and I made a ton of money. It was a moment in life and it became larger than life."

However, the downside was that producers apparently wanted Tyler to replace Simon Cowell as the show's mean judge. Tyler says, "They wanted me to take the piss out of the kids and I don't have that in me. That's not what I'm about. That's more about that other guy. Not me."

While I can totally understand Steven not wanting to be the mean judge, I'll admit it's painful to watch Idol anymore because the judges are way too positive!

Does Mariah Carey have a bigger fan base than Jennifer Lopez?
Last week we reported that Mariah Carey was in negotiations to become American Idol's newest judge at the rumored price of $17 million. Turns out, she got the FOX execs to toss in another mill to make make it a cool $18 million for one season! Mariah tweeted, "It's gonna be so much fun working on American Idol. As a singer-songwriter, I'm excited to help find and nurture new talent. LYM! - MC"

To put it in perspective, JLo made $12 million for her first year, and Britney Spears is currently pulling in $15 million on The X Factor. It's unclear if Randy Jackson will return, so there's still at least one more vacancy at the judge's table.

It's an expensive off-season for Idol!

Is Kanye West "American Idol's" best hope to regain their ratings?
Holy shizzies, I did NOT think there was any drama behind the scenes on JLo and Steven Tyler's exit from American Idol last week, but turns out I'm wrong! The Wrap reports that both stars were dropped because of low ratings. Lopez got paid $12 million for her first season, $15 for her second, and she asked for $17 for the third... thing is, Idol never called back! As for Steven, bi@tches just didn't renew his contract! Now they're talking about doing a clean sweep of the judges panel, inviting Mariah Carey and Kanye West to come on. Kanye would obviously be television gold!

Do you think Steven Tyler is leaving "Idol" because he was forced to?
It's rumor season at American Idol, but Steven Tyler isn't playing the JLo am I leaving? am I staying? game. Yesterday, the Aerosmith frontman announced he's leaving the show after two seasons. Releasing a statement through FOX, Tyler said, "After some long...hard...thoughts…I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress American Idol before she boils my rabbit. I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I’m back... Idol was over-the-top fun, and I loved every minute of it…Now it’s time to bring Rock Back."

Best of luck, Mr. Tyler! Looking forward to new Aerosmith for sure!!
