Kristen Wiig Returns To "SNL"!

May 12, 2013 | 04:35 PM PDT

Filed under: Kristen Wiig, NBC, Saturday Night Live, New TV

One of the best female cast members of all-time on Saturday Night Live, Kristen Wiig returned last night as host. While I was a little upset the Gilly didn't make an appearance, Kristen did resurrect the Target woman! And of course, it was hilarious!

68-years-old, do you think Lorne Michaels will ever retire?
The 38th season of Saturday Night Live comes to a close on May 18th, and the famed late-night sketch show will go out in style as it will be hosted by Ben Affleck with musical guest Kanye West! The second to last show on May 11th will bring former cast member Kristen Wiig back as host with musical guest Vampire Weekend.

Pretty great lineup to bring SNL to a close!

Do you think "Anchorman 2" will be just as funny as the first one?

Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Christina Applegate, Kristen WiigHarrison Ford???!!! While he certainly doesn't fit the comedy pedigree of the others, Harrison Ford's resume is second to none, and he's adding to it by signing on for Anchorman 2. Ford will play a legendary newsman opposite Ferrell's Ron Burgundy. Other plot details on the film are being kept under wraps.

Anchorman 2
is scheduled to hit theaters this December.

Are comedy sequels typically less successful than drama sequels?

Hard to believe it's been eight years since Ron Burgundy graced the screen as the lead anchor of San Diego's Channel 4 Evening News. And speaking of news... Kristen Wiig is joining returning cast members Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, and Dave Koechner! Director Adam McKay announced the news Monday on his Facebook page.

Under the tentative title Anchorman: The Legend Continues, little has been revealed regarding the plot of the sequel. However, it does have a release date of December 20, and I couldn't be more excited!

Does "SNL" seem to support Democrats more than Republicans?

After much speculation, Jason Sudeikis is officially returning to Saturday Night Live! While Mitt Romney and Joe Biden might not be too happy about that, viewers should be. Jason's political impressions are some of the best on the show, plus with Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg leaving, SNL needs its veteran cast members.

The 36-year-old funnyman will begin his 8th season with the show when it premieres this Saturday.

Will "SNL" impact the outcome of this fall's presidential election?

Lorne Michaels
has some serious issues to address before the 38th season of Saturday Night Live kicks off on September 15th. Not only is Andy Samberg and Kristen Wiig gone, but Jason Sudeikis still hasn't decided if he's going to return. If he doesn't, Lorne will have to find someone ASAP who can do a solid Mitt Romney impression considering it'll be full-out election season.

Fred Armisen's Barack Obama has grown on me... but could it still be better?

Blowing up in 2012, do you think Kristen Wiig owed "SNL" another season?
She's arguably the funniest woman on the planet and is super sexy, so it's no wonder Kristen Wiig is dating a rock star! After months of speculation, Wiig is finally opening up on her relationship with The Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti. "I will say that I'm happier than I've ever been," says Kristen. "And I feel very lucky right now… When you’re on your deathbed, you probably aren’t counting the movies you’ve made. You’re looking at the people who are around you and thinking about the people in your life, and you can’t lose how important that is because that’s ultimately where happiness comes from.”

Deep thoughts! Well said, Kristen!

PS: Totally changing my name to Fabrizio.

Does the "SNL" cast talk trash about Lorne Michaels behind his back?
After Kristen Wiig announced her departure on the 37th season finale, rumors immediately began circulating that Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis would be following her lead. A week later, Samberg confirmed he was leaving Saturday Night Live, but so far Sudeikis has stayed mum… until now.

Talking with Men's Journal the actor said, "I’ve left places before. This is very, very different. Goodbyes are tough." Jason continued by describing SNL as "an amazing job and a horrible hob." Umm… that sounds like he's definitely leaving, so why not just say so JS?!

No Wiig, Samberg or Sudeikis? Yikes.

Is Adam Carolla right in saying men are funnier than women?
Apparently Adam Carolla hasn't ever heard of Kristen Wiig, Tina Fey, Ellen, Wanda, etc. Talking with the New York Post, Carolla said, "They make you hire a certain number of chicks, and they're always the least funny on the writing staff. The reason why you know more funny dudes than funny chicks is that dudes are funnier than chicks."

Coming from a dude who ran The Man Show, I guess we shouldn't be surprised. But the question is: Does Carolla have a point?

Andy Samberg Leaving "SNL"

Now that Kristen Wiig & Andy Samberg aren't in SNL, will you watch?

NO!!! The king of Digital Shorts, Andy Samberg, is officially leaving Saturday Night Live to pursue his television and movie career. With his new awful-looking flick, That's My Boy coming out next week, we're not sure this is the best timing... Andy tells the New York Times, "it's an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life. Obviously it's not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back."

As for Kristen Wiig leaving too, Andy says "she kept saying it just feels like it's her time. I connect to that." We're sad to see you go, Andy!
