Has Eddie Murphy's career largely been a disappointment?

His career has had its share of ups and downs, but when it comes to the bottom line Forbes says Eddie Murphy's as bad as it gets. A recent string of flops (Meet Dave, Imagine That, A Thousand Words, Tower Heist) has landed Murphy on top of Forbes' Most Overpaid Actors list for 2012. The business site estimates that for every $1 Murphy is paid, the movie studio is returned just $2.30 at the box office.

In second place is Katherine Heigl, a newcomer to the list after One for the Money brought in just $37 million on a $40 million budget. The rest of the top 10: Reese Witherspoon, Sandra Bullock, Jack Black, Nicolas Cage, Adam Sandler, Denzel Washington, Ben Stiller, and Sarah Jessica Parker. Quite a star-studded lineup!

Man Stabbed At Tenacious D Concert

Do you ever rock out to Jack Black's band, Tenacious D?
Scary! Jack Black's hilarious hardcore band, Tenacious D, just got a little bit too ACTUALLY hardcore this weekend at a show in Las Vegas. Police shut down the House of Blues concert when a brutal fight broke out, leaving one man stabbed in the leg. He was rushed to the hospital and is reportedly doing okay. The cops made one arrest, and the band has not released a statement. This sucks, but it's not gonna stop me from listening to "F**k Her Gently" on myPod.

School of Rock Gone Country!

Filed under: Jack Black, Owen Wilson, Steve Martin

Making the rounds promoting his new movie The Big Year (Co-starring Steve Martin/Owen Wilson), Jack Black made a guest appearance during mega-country star Keith Urban’s show at the Los Angeles Staples Center. The Tenacious D frontman channeled his inner Charlie Daniels and performed "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." And we gotta admit, it sounded pretty rootin' tootin' good! As for that shirt...not.so.much.

Owen Wilson & Jack Black In "The Big Year"

September 11, 2011 | 02:42 PM PDT

From the director of The Devil Wears Prada, check out The Big Year. It's about a group of bird watchers all going through a life crisis. The cast is simply dope: Steve Martin, Jack Black, Owen Wilson, Joel McHale, and Rashida Jones star. It looks like The Bucket List, but like, hopefully kinda funny?

Don't Sneak Up On Papa Panda Jack Black

Should there be laws against photographing celebrity children?

Yikes! Remind me to never take pictures of Jack Black's kids!!! Papa bear was looking none-too-happy about paparazzi photographing his wife and child. Black next stars with Owen Wilson and Steve Martin in the bird-watching comedy The Big Year. And somehow that sounds amazing.

Angelina Jolie Talks Kids In Cannes

May 15, 2011 | 12:12 PM PDT

Filed under: Jack Black, Angelina Jolie

So pretty. So elegant. So sexually experienced.

Angelina Jolie talks about her new movie, Kung Fu Panda 2, (which I happen to be totally excited for!) at Cannes, and explains why she likes to take on kick-ass roles, and how she's really doing it all for her kids.

Angelina adds "The kids are back at the hotel, running around, having a great time and probably causing a mess... They love it here." Aw, we would too if we were rich enough or famous enough...

Do you think Jack Black should do more dramas?
The 41-year-old Gulliver's Travels star, Jack Black, was hunted-down on the red carpet by the midgets over at Access Hollywood last week, who dished that he's looking to drop some major bloatage next year:
  • “I’m gonna drop fitty." Adding: “No! I’m gonna drop fitty L.B.s. How many quarter-pounders with cheeses is that? I’m gonna drop 200 quarter-pounder with cheeses!”

Un-Babes: Jack Black's "Gulliver's Travels"

June 06, 2010 | 04:01 PM PDT

Filed under: Jack Black, New Movies

Stoner funnyman Jack Black is finally back with a new comedy since his mayja flop Year One with Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World cutie Michael Cera.

Gulliver’s Travels is an update of the famous tale about a grown man imprisoned by a village of super-small peeps. This 3-D extravaganza appears to be in the “fun for everyone” vein like Night at the Museum or Bedtime Stories.

But can Jack Black open a movie like Ben Stiller and Adam Sandler can? We shall see!

P.S. Can you believe Jack Black is 40 years old?! They grow up so fat! Oops, I mean fast...
