The highest-earning dead celebrity of the year? Elizabeth Taylor, who earned an insane $210 million, topping runner-up Michael Jackson by a cool $65 million! Taylor's estate flourished thanks to her record-breaking jewelry, artwork, costumes and memorabilia auctions. Her perfume White Diamonds also brought in $75 million.
MJ dropped to second place with $145 million, followed by Elvis at $55 million and Peanuts creator Charles Schulz with $37 million. Keep in mind -- these people are dead.
Not too bad… for being dead. Or alive.

Well obviously! Who would want their deceased mama played by a train wreck in recovery? The Enquirer reports that "Elizabeth Taylor's family and friends are furious that Lindsay Lohan has been cast to play the screen goddess in a TV movie." Sources close to Taylor's sons say they'd rather see someone like Cate Blanchett or Emily Blunt in the role. You know, classy babes! Don't worry y'all, this will not be the end-all-be-all Liz Taylor biopic. There will be others!

WOW! I see more Megan Fox, Liz Taylor, even Amy Winehouse than Katy Perry! Covering this month's Interview Magazine, Katy underwent drastic hair and makeup… not that I'm complaining!
Amazing how she can transform her look… on the right is Katy playing a curly red-head police officer for an episode of the FOX sitcom Raising Hope which will air on March 6th.

Liz Taylor, who passed away last March at the age of 79, had her jewels auctioned off in Manhattan via Christie's Auctions. "It's one of the most extraordinary auctions that Christie's has ever had and a testament to the affection for Elizabeth Taylor worldwide," said the president of Christie's Fine Art Auctions. After the final hammer struck, Z-Tay's 80 gems brought in $116 million for her AIDS Foundation.
Feel like ya missed out? They'll be auctioning her wardrobe and other belongings in February, so get your million dollar bills ya'll ready!
