Barbara's career began in 1974 as an anchor on NBC's Today. She would later become the first female to anchor a network evening newscast. A fascinating woman and an astonishing career.

Barbara's career started as a news anchor on NBC's Today in 1974. Among her never-ending list of achievements, near the top has to be her accomplishment of being the first female to anchor a network evening newscast.
She'll certainly be missed, but since she'll still be gracing our small screens for the next year, we have plenty of time to say goodbye.

We can only hope these truly are the people who are influential, and not the Biebers, Rihannas, Chris Browns, & LiLos of the world.

Typically something young kids get, chickenpox is a highly contagious but non-threatening infection. However, chickenpox in adults is a bit more serious, but doctors assure us Walters will make a full recovery!
Best wishes, Barbara! And NO ITCHING!

The holiday season is among us, which means these silly year-end lists are too! Each December since 1993, Barbara Walters has released her Most Fascinating People of the Year. On this list for 2012: One Direction, Ben Affleck, Gabby Douglas, Hillary Clinton, E.L. James, Seth MacFarlane and Chris Christie. That leaves three more spots to be filled, including the top honor -- Most Fascinating Person of the Year.
Barbara will unveil the rest of the list on December 12 on ABC. Will you tune in?

In an interview with Barbara Walters, Kirstie Alley reveals that she was always desperately in love with John Travolta, even when she was married to Parker Stevenson. She tells Babz, "it took all the power I had [not to run off with him]." Alley says that Travolta is the "love of my life," and they remain pals because they're both all about Scientology.

Lindsay Lohan will sit down for an interview with Barbara Walters! YES. The only person I'd rather see interview Lindsay Lohan than Barbara Walters is Oprah Winfrey -- but I guess we'll have to wait on that. Babz and Linds are reportedly buds and have been waiting to do this interview ever since Liz & Dick was announced. Sources tell TMZ that the interview "will focus on the parallels between the lives of Lindsay and Liz Taylor -- things like child stardom, a rough childhood, living life in the public, and also dealing with addiction." I get these comparisons, but at the same time, what a joke! Lindsay's been in like TWO good movies. Gimme a break, she's no Liz Taylor, peeps!

Barf. Appearing on The View, Kim Kardashian had to answer some hard-hitting questions from Barbara Walters regarding her new boytoy Kanye West. Asking about marriage and babies, Kim said, “I definitely think anything I’d be in now is a permanent relationship.
As for kids, Kimmy tells the ladies, “I think that at the space I am in life now, kids is definitely something that I want.”
Kim and Kanye offspring? OMG. Like oh my gosh that's not a good idea.
