Here's the not-so-surprising story of the day: country star Jason Aldean and his wife Jessica Aldean Ussery are splitting after 11 years of marriage. Seven months after Aldean was spotted in public cheating on her with American Idol alum Brittany Kerr, the couple reportedly split back in January.
A source tells Us Weekly, "There were obvious problems before the bar kiss, but he finally left earlier this year." Ya think?!
"Idol" Tried To Replace Mariah With JLo?!

It's no secret that this season of American Idol has been its worst. The talent has been subpar (In my opinion) and the judges have been absolutely pathetic (Again, my opinion). You might disagree, but the ratings don't -- they're in a steep decline. Rumors have surfaced that Idol producers actually tried to replace Mariah Carey with Jennifer Lopez midseason!
The Hollywood Reporter says Carey's legal team threatened a lawsuit when they uncovered the news, and FOX producers quickly dropped the plan. However, they're still trying to bring in JLo for the finale this May.
Wow.

Ryan Seacrest did his best to stall the show, making small talk with the other prompt judges. As for the performances, the gals outshined the dudes in my humble opinion. What do you think?

Wow, what has the world come to?! Apparently it's come to a world that's had enough of the tired old format that is American Idol. Fresh off their Jimmy Kimmel Live! controversy with singer Morrissey, Duck Dynasty's season three premiere brought in 8.6 million viewers, a record for A&E. Meanwhile, Idol garnered its lowest Wednesday audience of the season with just 13.3 million. But in the all-important advertiser-prized 18-49 demographic, Dynasty drew 5 million sets of eyes compared to Idol at 4.9 million.
