It's ten till midnight. I'm in my sister's home. I'm a little tipsy on wine and I've just finished crying after watching the news while cuddling with loved ones. I watched a special about a farming community who rallied around a family who was busy dealing with a mother's stage 4 breast cancer during harvest. The family had thousands of acres of corn to tend to, but couldn't find the energy, time or drive to take care of business, with their fearless leader in so much pain. Without sending a S.O.S., over 100 friends, family, neighbors and community members arrived to the farm to tend to the crops and help the family in need.
The news interviewed one of the volunteers, asking him if he now expected something in return for his good deeds. The old farmer shook his head and said: "Thanksgiving is about giving thanks for what you have and about giving thanks for what you can do for others." After crying for a half hour and texting this to everyone, their mother and their sister too, I thought that I just had to share it with all of you.
This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for all of you! I'm thankful for your participation in my website. I'm thankful for everyone who helps make this website the bomb.com. And I am also very thankful for the opportunity to bring a little snark, sass and bad @$$ to your interwebzzz each and every work day and weekend.
I hope you spend this holiday doing exactly what you want! Whether it be stuffing face with friends and family! Bumping uglies with a tall, dark and beautiful someone! Eating cookies n' cream ice cream in front of the boob tube! Getting wastoidz in Vegas! Text messaging ex boyfriends that you're thankful for peacing you out! WHATEVER IT MAY BE! It's a holiday to give thanks, love, be loved and to put your best foot/boob forward!
