Black Eyed Peas SUED For "Shut Up"

December 14, 2010 | 12:39 PM PST

Filed under: Black Eyed Peas, Celebrity Court Date

Do you think the Black Eyed Peas "sampling" of songs should be illegal?
I totally get where multi-colored dread locked funkfest Clinton is coming from, but gimme a break! The Peas latest sample-fests "The Time" and "Light Up The Night" make me wanna drink Vodka-tonz all night and hump the dance floor! That means: I AIN'T COMPLAINING!

Today, funk master George Clinton filed a claim in federal court against the Black Eyed Peas for their use of his music, most notably his song "Knee Deep," on their 2003 album Elephunk and in their Shut Up Remix.

He says he never gave the Grammy-award winners permission to use his jams. Now he wants them to pay!
